Border Collie International slated for Summer Reading on the Commons

Border Collie InternationalSummer Reading on the Commons kicks off on Tuesday, June 20th with Border Collie International, a performing canine team of rescued border collies. These entertaining dogs will perform routines with football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and Frisbee.

The fun begins at 7 pm. Tualatin Commons Park is located at 8325 SW Nyberg St.

Summer Reading on the Commons is supported by a donation from the Friends of the Tualatin Library.

2017 Summer Reading kickoff

Build a Better WorldThe weekend of June 2-4 marks the start of Summer Reading 2017 at the Tulatin Public Library. Kick-off events are scheduled for kids, teens, and the whole family:

Teen Extravaganza. Sign up for summer reading, get a free book, play bingo, cake walk, and more. Free for grades 6 to 12 in the Teen Room. Friday, June 2nd, 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

The Reptile Man. Richard Ritchey, the Reptile Man, presents 15-20 reptiles in an engaging 1-hour program designed to educate and entertain. The Reptile Man is a full-time professional herpetologist who has been performing in Oregon and Washington for the past 24 years. Free for all ages in the Library Community Room. Saturday, June 3rd, 2 pm to 3 pm.

Music by The Junebugs. The Junebugs combine high-energy pop with Pacific Northwest folksy goodness to create a genre-bending sound you can kick up your heels to. Free for all ages by the Library Hearth. Sunday, June 4th, 2 pm to 3 pm.

All three events are supported by a donation from the Friends.

Bob Dylan tribute by Ronnie Robins at the library

Ronnie RobinsSinger/songwriter/guitarist Ronnie Robins will perform a tribute to the legendary Bob Dylan at the library on Sunday, March 26th at 2 pm. For the past 20 years, Ronnie has performed extensively as a solo artist and with his band, playing an eclectic assortment of styles. He’ll focus on Dylan’s musical library for this program. In addition to performing, Ronnie also teaches guitar lessons in his home studio and other locations.

This concert will be free for all ages near the library fireplace hearth. Ronnie’s performance will be the latest installment of the library’s Sunday Music Series and supported by a Friends of Tualatin Library donation.

Anandi to perform at the library

AnandiJazz singer/songwriter Anandi will perform at the Tualatin Public Library on Sunday February 26, 2017 at 2 pm in the next installment of the library’s Sunday Music Series.

Whether she’s singing jazz standards or her own original songs, Anandi projects a special mood, mesmerizing listeners with a thoughtful approach to every song. You might want to click on over to her website where you can listen to Anandi performing Unchained Melody, Old Devil Moon, Quiet Nights, and other jazzy tunes. (This Friends volunteer listened to all 13 songs on the website; can’t wait to hear Anandi sing in person.)

Aaron Meyer to perform at the library

Aaron MeyerRock violinist Aaron Meyer will perform a festive and rockin’ seasonal concert at the Tualatin Library on Saturday, December 17, 2 pm to 3 pm.

Aaron’s musical style was inspired by his worldwide travels. His broad range of music includes everything from a rendition of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” to his signature versions of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir,” and the Beatles classic “Let it Be.” He connects with audiences of all ages, cultures and backgrounds from around the world.
