Resale Book Stocker
We are looking for volunteers to join the team that stocks the sale shelves inside the library. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Restocking sale shelves in the library.
  • Learning the pricing structure for sale materials.
  • Assisting in processing book donations.
  • Attending team planning meetings every 2 months.
  • Lifting bankers-box sized boxes of books is helpful. 
  • The time commitment is 2-3 hours weekly. Training is provided and the hours are flexible.

Membership Chairperson
This volunteer will work with our membership, receiving and tracking membership applications and payments.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Preparing and sending out membership renewals and voting ballots.**
  • Logging in membership renewals and sending acknowledgment of payments.
  • Following up with members who express an interest in volunteering or have questions.
  • Attending evening Board meetings every 2 months to report on membership activities. 
  • Training is available, but ability to navigate a basic spreadsheet and Google Drive/Gmail is helpful.
  • The time commitment varies. Our membership drive runs during the November/December months and will require about 5 hours per week, the rest of the year is about an hour per week.

Community Booksale Coordinator
The Friends are seeking a co-chair to work closely with the current chair to plan and execute our community book sales. We hold two large book sales per year, which are in May and November.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of the flow and requirements for the book sales
  • Coordinate publicity for the sales using cost-effective resources
  • Recruit volunteers from among Friends’ members and library patrons
  • Coordinate day-of sale requirements including truck rental, moving inventory, sale set-up, and payment processing
  • Organize clean-up of venue at close of sale

Book Evaluator
Evaluate donated books and determine how to utilize and price them for our various sale venues. Days and hours are flexible and training is provided by experienced evaluators.

Desired skills:

  • You have good computer and research skills. 
  • You can coordinate work with a team of evaluators.
  • You have 2-3 hours per week to dedicate to this role.
  • You like coming to the Tualatin Library!

  • Newsletter Editor – help gather, edit, and distribute our newsletter 3-4 times a year.
  • Publicity – posting to social media; updating the website; designing flyers, and more!
  • Administrative – serving on the Board of Directors.
