Mojo Holler to perform at Tualatin Library

On Sunday, March 17th Mojo Holler will perform around the hearth as part of the Tualatin Public Library’s Sunday Music Series. The duo consists of Missi Hasting as lead singer, on rhythm guitar, and on washboard, and John Baker on vocals and on lap steel and guitars. Their music is a blend of Mississippi Delta blues, Appalachian folk, southern outlaw country, rhythm and blues, and plain old rock-n-roll. Two Spirit Jazz to perform at the Tualatin Library

Two Spirit Jazz

On Sunday, December 16th Two Spirit Jazz will perform around the hearth as part of the Tualatin Public Library’s Sunday Music Series. The group’s repertoire comes from the Great American songbook and from the vast supply of American jazz and blues. Vocalist Suzanne Callaway is also a composer and often includes some of her originals at performances. You can learn more about Two Spirit Jazz and sample their music on their website. Summer Sunday Music by the Hearth

The Tualatin Public Library’s Summer Sunday Music by the Hearth series starts this weekend. This popular series will feature musicians representing a variety of genres:

July 8. Talbott Brothers
With a blend of folk and rock, the Talbott Brothers combine harmonies with storytelling and infectious melodies.

July 15. Brian Odell Trio
This acoustic guitar-driven jam band infuses elements of funk, rock, jazz, and even some classical.

July 22. 1939 Ensemble
1939 Ensemble doesn’t just cross genres, they embrace and exploit them, inviting listeners in through the familiar.

July 29. Mbrascatu
This indie rock band blends sounds ranging from delicate to explosive with expressive Italian lyrics.

Each performance starts at 2 pm around the hearth at the Tualatin Public library, 18878 SW Martinazzi Ave, Tualatin, Oregon.

Summer reading starts Friday

Libraries Rock is the theme of the Tualatin Library’s 2018 Summer Reading Program. A kickoff party featuring music by Petty Fever, a Tom Petty tribute band, is scheduled for Friday, June 1st, 6 to 8 pm. The library will also have a photo booth, mascots, and balloon guy. Mark your calendar for this rockin’ event!

Kids and teens will receive a free book just for signing up. There will also be special programs for kids at the Commons on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. Check out the library’s page on summer reading for all the details on this great program.

The Friends donated funding to the library for books and activities for the Summer Reading Program. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

DoublePlusGood to perform at Tualatin Library
