Friends receive UnitedHealth Group Dollars for Doers grant
UnitedHealth Group has awarded a $500 grant to the Friends of Tualatin Library as part of its Dollars for Doers program. This program provides grants to 501(c)(3) and educational organizations as recognition for their employees’ volunteer efforts. Friends Board member Allison Austin is a UnitedHealth Group employee who met all of the requirements and applied for the grant on our behalf. We are most grateful, both to UnitedHealth Group for the grant and to Allison for her contributions as a Board member and book sale volunteer.

The Tualatin library has challenged the community to read 2.5 million minutes this summer. Kids, teens, and adults can participate. As Tualatin’s readers turn in their reading logs, the SuperReader on the skyscraper shown here will climb toward the top of the building. The sign at the bottom of the building says “Read to new heights. Watch SuperReader soar to our reading goal of 2.5 million minutes.” You can track the community’s progress at the library during July and August.
We will hold our annual Summer Used Book Sale on Friday, June 5 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the library. The book sale moved to early June last year so customers could stock up on books and other materials for the summer months.
