The Friends are looking for volunteers for two important positions in the organization:
1. Chair of the Ongoing Sales Team. You’ll lead the team that markets and stocks the sale shelves inside the library on a daily basis. Our ongoing sale is a major source of revenue for the Friends. Training will be provided and approximate time commitment is six to seven hours per week. Come lead our Ongoing Book Sale Team!
Responsibilities include:
- Meeting monthly with the rest of the volunteer team to develop schedules, discuss pricing, and plan future activities.
- Communicating with the Ongoing team by email as needed.
- Working with chairs of the Amazon and Book Sale teams.
- Providing a report of Ongoing activities to the Friends’ Board president before meetings.
- Communicating with the library staff as needed.
- Coordinating inventory control and administrative tasks important to the operation of the team.
2. Amazon Marketplace Product Lister. You’ll list donated books, DVDs, and miscellaneous other products on the Friends Amazon Marketplace. All items are evaluated by other team members to make sure that they meet listing criteria, and are then flagged for the Product Lister. Potential volunteers should be detail oriented and have strong computer skills. Training will be provided and approximate time commitment is four to five hours per week.
