Talbots fundraiser extended
On Thursday evening Karen Uboldi represented the Friends at the Talbots fundraiser, telling customers about our mission, inviting them to join us, publicizing our book sale, and selling book bags. We netted eleven new members at this event thanks to Karen’s efforts!
Talbots donated 10% of select sales that day to the Friends and yesterday they announced that they’ve extended the fundraiser through Sunday. Remember: to qualify, shoppers need to indicate that their purchases support the Friends.
Karen’s a fan. “If you’re considering treating yourself to something new for Mothers Day, a summer celebration, wedding, birthday or vacation, Talbots has beautiful colors to choose from and the styles are fantastic,” she said. “And they have a store-wide 30% off sale this weekend.”

The Friends are partnering with women’s clothing retailer Talbots for a fundraiser on Thursday May 4th. The Bridgeport store will donate 10% of select sales that day to the Friends. To qualify, shoppers need to indicate that their purchases support the Friends.
UnitedHealth Group has awarded a $500 grant to the Friends of Tualatin Library as part of its Dollars for Doers program. This program provides grants to 501(c)(3) and educational organizations as recognition for their employees’ volunteer efforts. Friends Board member Allison Austin is a UnitedHealth Group employee who met all of the requirements and applied for the grant on our behalf. We are most grateful, both to UnitedHealth Group for the grant and to Allison for her contributions as a Board member and book sale volunteer.
The Friends have received a donation of Fine Woodworking and Fine Homebuilding magazines that we’re offering for sale. The 49 back issues are from 1989 through 1995 and contain many informative articles for the home woodworker. We’re asking just $5 for the lot. Please
