Friends sponsor Marian Call concert

Marian CallCome to the library on Sunday, March 22nd at 2 pm for a free concert featuring singer-songwriter Marian Call. The Friends contributed funds to sponsor this fun event for the whole family.

Call is an Alaska-based musician who tours with her unique brand of clever and honest music which oftentimes explores the realms of pop and geek culture. She plays eclectic, humorous and heartfelt songs that appeal to crowds of all ages and demographics. Friends support Teen Mini Maker Faire

teen roomThe Friends donated $500 to the Tualatin Library for a Teen Mini Maker Faire scheduled for Thursday March 12, 4-6pm in the Tualatin Library Community Room. The Faire is part of  the “Libraries are for Making” Teen Tech Week program where teens will take learning beyond the classroom to explore, create, and spark their imaginations. Teens can register on the library website to create toothbrush robots, LED projects, and more!

Friends support ESL tutoring

English as a second languageThe Friends have donated funding to the library to support an English as a second language tutoring program. The money goes toward textbooks and workbooks to help people improve their English skills with trained volunteers in a one-on-one tutoring environment.
